The lyrics are very effective and when I listen to them I feel a range of different emotions from the deep,meaningful words used by Mary J Blige. The start of the song immediately draws the audience in to the mood and themes of the song which are drama, pain and suffering to begin with. The audience can either relate or sympathise with Mary J Blige as she has had a tough upbringing. Mary came from a broken background as her father left at the age of four and lived in a very dangerous neighbourhood. One of the reasons why I chose this song is because of its meaningful lyrics and melodic music. I feel its a song that can engage with an audience for the full duration which should hopefully help my music video to be successful too.
